What you can expect as the New Business Associate - Annuity

This person will provide timely and accurate customer service via the telephone (inbound and/or outbound calls) OR by processing/reviewing New Business transfer paperwork/correspondence and preparing, assembling and mailing policies.


Essential Functions:

  • Primary functions include the following:
  • Provide high level customer service via telephone (inbound and outbound), e-mail, or written communication, handling policy inquiries and/or transfer company calls. Conduct communications in a pleasant, helpful manner. Accountable for providing follow through to ensure correction is made to resolve problems or complaints and notify individuals of action taken. Perceive, distinguish, and empathize with emotions of internal and external customers. Record calls (including electronic “tagging”), process requests, and update account history with results of inquiry to include proper documentation.
  • Independently conduct initial review and make judgment & decisions that fall within prescribed policies and limits regarding transfer paperwork and correspondence.
  • Handle correspondence and other documents within established company standards. This may include matching documents to appropriate accounts (electronic and/or paper files), verifying output for accuracy, and/or mailing paperwork to agents or other companies.
  • Prepare, assemble and mail policies, correspondence within established company standards.
  • Examine documents for completeness and adherence to company standards and government regulations.
  • Maintain appropriate detail in documentation of policy files in administrative systems regarding additional requirements, correspondence, and subsequent relevant activity as a result of communications by phone or in writing.
  • Continuously develop working knowledge of annuity contracts, government regulations, and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Monitor personal work to verify accuracy and to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Research internal and external inquiries and respond to appropriate parties in a timely manner.
  • Process a variety of tasks and high volumes of work in a fast paced, time-sensitive, environment.
  • Recognize and report defects.
  • Exhibit professional behavior that reflects being part of the total company team by demonstrating a positive attitude, setting aside distractions and personal bias and holding self and others accountable for department/company goals.

What we are looking for:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-2 years' life or annuity experience
  • Minimum 2 years' customer service
  • Working knowledge of a PC and Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Strong verbal and/or written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently
