What you can expect as the Contracting Specialist:

 

This person will communicate on all phases of information relating to Agent contract applications and correspondence. Process Contracting applications and respond to inquiries around pending applications in a timely and accurate fashion.

 

What we are looking for:


Essential Functions:

  • Provide professional, high level, customer service via telephone (inbound and outbound), e-mail, and/or written communication, handling agent inquiries. Conduct communications in a pleasant, professional manner with the needs of the customer on the forefront of all interactions. Accountable for providing follow through to ensure correction is made to resolve problems or complaints and notify individuals of action taken. Perceive, distinguish, and empathize with emotions of internal/external customers. Record calls (including electronic “tagging”), process requests, and update account history with results of inquiry to include proper documentation.
  • Process applications and all corresponding paperwork to document any outstanding requirements. Independently conduct initial review to make judgments and decisions that fall within prescribed policies and guidelines. Recognize when to seek management for escalated involvement. Initiate communication with agents regarding highly-sensitive personal background checks to educate and review results with high degree of confidentiality
  • Maintain appropriate detail in documentation of agent and policy files in multiple administrative systems regarding additional requirements, correspondence, and subsequent relevant activity as a result of communications by phone or in writing.
  • Using comprehensive knowledge of agent contracts, government regulations, and departmental policies and procedures to provide support to team members, other departments, and our customers as situations warrant.
  • Examine imaged documents, and/or related documents for completeness and adherence to company standards and government regulations.
  • Monitor personal work to verify accuracy and to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Research inquiries and respond to appropriate parties in a timely manner.
  • Process a variety of tasks with high quality, during peak volumes of work in a fast paced, time-sensitive, environment.
  • Must be proficient in multitasking in utilizing multiple processes and administrative computer systems.
  • Obtain and maintain a proficient knowledge of agent applications; State licensing and continuing education requirements, credit reports, background investigations and any other departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all company products (Life, Annuity, and Securities), commission schedules, and multiple distribution channels. Be familiar with, or aware of prior procedures to resolve more complicated issues.
  • Acquire knowledge of basic functions and processes of other departments to effectively communicate these to all parties.
  • Process state appointment renewals, or non-renewals when appropriate, received from state insurance departments with special attention given to detailed information from the state as well as state law requirements
  • Proactively identify flaws in procedures and workflow. Report situations as needed with suggested modifications to procedures and workflow as necessary to ensure efficient and effective processing.

Qualifications:

 

  • College Degree Or
  • Minimum 2 years' customer service
  • Minimum 1 year life or annuity experience
  • Proficient use of PC and Microsoft Office products
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently
  • Ability to adapt to frequent change
  • Ability to work periodic overtime, sometimes with relatively short notice
